Is window film or tint removable?

Yes. Window film or tint is as permanent as you want it to be. Not all window films come off the same way. One of the reasons we prefer some brands of film over others is because they stick really well but are also easy to remove.

Window film is virtually maintenance-free and cleaning is easy. After thirty days, you may clean the surface using normal household cleaning solutions, including ammonia based products, Windex, and a soft, lint-free cloth or towel. In most cases, a soft-clean cloth and soapy water are all you need and you may also use a squeegee. Abrasive products, which could scratch or damage the film, should not be used.

The window films used by QuickTint are composed of the most advanced polymers and are extremely durable. QuickTint home service comes with a lifetime written warranty for as long as you own your home. In commercial applications, we offer a 10-year written warranty, however many applications last over 20 years and the technology used in manufacturing only keeps improving.

Most residential window film is installed on the interior of windows. Most of the products we install are made for interior installation. However, exterior window tints are available for residential installation as well. Contact us to get more info on available options.

There are many different (interior and exterior) decorative window film options. You can choose frosted window film, blackout window film, whiteout window film or even a different mix of patterns, depending on what you’re looking to accomplish. Decorative window films block up to 99% of UVA and UVB rays while also reducing heat and glare.

Yes. Window film screens out up to 99% of damaging UV rays to help protect your fabrics, furniture, rugs and artwork against costly fading. However, visible light and infrared (IR) lights are other causes of fading.

Does protection from UV rays diminish over time?

No. The ultraviolet (UV) protection of a premium quality window film is indefinite. It does not lose effectiveness over time.

Window film goes on the inside surface most of the time. Sometimes a requested film installation cannot go on the inside of the glass due to the texture of the inside surface. Therefore, the film is installed on the exterior, smooth glass. This is common on front doors of newer homes.

No. Window film has never been proven to cause seal failure. Window seals fail (foggy windows) at the same rate regardless whether they have window film applied to them or not. If you are the original homeowner and you are still under your window manufacturer’s window warranty, most premium films will automatically give you 40 months of seal failure protection from the date of installation, not to exceed any window manufacturers warranty. At QuickTint, we use only the highest-quality, premium window tint and films.

No. QuickTint doesn’t recommend installing any type of window film on textured glass. The adhesive is meant to stick to a non-textured, smooth surface and it would void any warranty.

No. Solar screens get their performance rating by cutting visible light and absorption. Since visible light is only responsible for 44% of heat, the claim (made by solar screen people) of 80% – 90% heat reduction is misleading. Also, solar screens reduce 70% of UV light at the most. UV light is the major cause of fading. With sun-control window film, 99-99.9% of the ultraviolet light is eclipsed.
